Upon the completion of a new headquarters building, the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) needed artwork to finish the design. With an existing historical timeline and museum of medical instruments on the first floor, we decided the art needed to reflect a wider range of imagery to interest the employees who work at the building every day and the anesthesiologists who visit for business.
The end result is a beautiful mix of imagery featuring nature, abstract designs, the community, and local Chicago scenes.
A key design choice was to include people in some of the art selections as a nod to the connection anesthesiologists have with patients.
Finally, we brought dimension into the space with custom acrylic and glass installations that can be seen from a large central atrium.
